Why You Should Choose A Digital T-Shirt Printer for Your Next Project!
T-shirts are a favourite item of clothing which both men and women enjoy wearing. Not only are they a classic item of casual wear but they can also be the perfect blank canvas for anyone considering designing and printing their own custom T-shirts. There are several methods of printing, but one of the most effective is using a digital T-shirt printer.
Digital printing is also known as DTG or direct to garment printing and involves using a digital printer to apply ink directly onto the T-shirt that you’re customising. It’s a relatively new type of printing and has gained popularity in recent years largely because of the technical improvements in digital printers. Digital printers are really large (ours measure 2.9m x 2.1 m x 1.7m and weight in at a whopping 2200 kgs each) and can handle a myriad of designs in all sorts of colours. While there are plenty of digital printers to choose from, we wanted the best for our customers, which is why we chose two DGT printers from leading manufacturer, Kornit which offer exceptional print quality with superior washability – a must for anyone considering printing their own custom T-shirts.
A digital T-shirt printer works in a similar manner to the inkjet printer sitting on the desk in your office. The digital printer translates the graphics file or digital image directly on to your blank tee. Our DTG printers use water-based inks which gives them a retail quality. Eco-friendly and biodegradable, the inks meet industry standards. On dark T-shirts, the prints sit on top so you can feel them whereas, on white or pastel shades, the ink goes almost into the fabric leaving it feeling very soft to the touch. The DTG method is precise, which allows us to produce a single T-shirt with a retail quality, at an extremely low price point.
This is why DTG printing is a great choice for unique creative projects, personalised gifts, and small scale even uniforms When performed by our master printers, DTG printing results in high-quality T-shirts every time. Furthermore, you can choose to use as many colours as you want without it significantly affecting the overall cost. If you’re ordering a larger number of T-shirts and using fewer colours, then we recommend you choose screen printing instead.
To ensure your DTG printed T-shirt lasts for many years to come, it's best to turn it inside out and wash it with cold water and then hang it onto a coat hanger and allow it to air dry.
